I have had a couple of problems in the last few days. My people go to turn on the database and it acts as if it doesn't exist. I didn't think it was Access, as it would go through start up (two splash screens). But when it went to open the first form connected to a back end table, that was when it had the problem.

When I opened the back end, it automatically went in to some repair mode that I had never seen. I open a different database, same thing. I've narrowed it down to the network connection as the issue. So this time instead of going to the back end to repair, I just opened the front end (behind the curtain), deleted all the table links and then reconnected them and it was fine.

What is going on and how can I stop it from re-occurring?

Vandy.

maybe what happened was that the actual location of the back end was changed...?

remember, the path of the file on the server might not be the path of the file on your computer since you can map a drive to any place on a server...
Found this out myself the hard way...

now whenever I link tables, I always use the absolute path of the file from the server, i.e. \\serverName\Path...
