I know this is going to sound dumb but since I have not touched Flash in almost a year I can not figure out how to go from scene 1 to scene 2.
The prob is that I have an MC that I want to finish playing in frame one of scene 1, when finished I would like scene 2 to load and play at that time.
I did try quite a few different methods including different approaches some with out needing a scene 2 but I think it would be better to get this scene 2 to just play after the MC in frame one gets done.
Thanks in advance!!!

give the first frame in scene 2 a label then in the last frame of scene 1
_root.gotoandplay("nameyougaveit");

would that be the last frame in the MC i placed in frame 1 of scene 1?
how would it be done to allow the MC to complete, then play scene 2?
starting to sound like a preloader.....

yes last frame of the movie clip in scene 1

trouble comes with using scenes....always best not to use scenes...they are nothing but an authoring fiction.

La nuance c'est pas ton fort mon Bill!

Anybody's entitled to his (her) own opinions. You don't like scenes fine! State that and not that they shouldn't be used ever! Regards,

I am also insterested to know about "scenes". Is that true that when the movie is designed in multiple scenes, the loading time will be reduced??

Thanks!!

not true..scenes dont exist in the published movie...they are only present in authoring

if anything using lots of scenes will increase download time (larger file). instead of scenes use other small swf's and allow the user to download what they want when they need it.

one small opening movie...empty clip on stage to accept other movies...then let user see only what they need.

It's a relief to know that...as I am now making a long (at least to me) movie using only two scenes - one for loading, and one for the actual movie, and I am concerned about its loading time...since it's not gonna increase the loading time, I feel comfortable doing it in only one scene..:)

Thank you !

The question is more a question of content in that one scene, than anything else. I could have a 100 scenes (2 frames) movie that would load much quicker than maybe your 200 frames single scene. It all depends! And a preloader scene is usually not an issue in this case. Regards,

Hi, Oldnewbie

I agree with what you said...I will have 35 key frames in one scene, with one movie clip in each frame...Hopefully, it won't take long to load..As you said..it depends..

Thanks for the reminder!

Cheers
Jenny
