From same location, VPN from WinME works - Win2k doesn't

I'm trying to VPN to my office's VPN server. I have two computers behind a cable modem and cable router. My WinME laptop can connect to the office fine - everything works. I can access machines by name, browse the network - everything.

I then turn around to my Win2k (Adv. Server) system and I can't completely connect. I'm making a connection to the server, but after all of the handshaking, there's nothing coming across the connection. I am getting an IP address from the VPN server, but I can't do anything - not even ping another computer by IP address.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like the subnet mask on the Win2K box is always set to 255.255.255.255 while on the WinME laptop, it's always 255.255.255.0. Could that cause this? If so, how to I change it?

Hi, apply a complete ( 100 Mb )SP2 to W2K-server even if you think it is applied already

Markku

I downloaded and installed the SP (even though I had already installed SP2 once before). There's no change. I'm still looking at a 255.255.255.255 subnet mask.

What can I try now?
