a customer has 1 BCM400 where all their PSTN lines are terminated and 2 BCM50 connected via SIP. calls between the 3 BCMs are successful. the 2 BCM50s can access the PSTN of the BCM400.

problem is when an incoming call dials an extension on the BCM50 th caller hears an error the extension is invalid. what am i missing? do i need MCDN license for this?

it's because the route you built to the BCM50s are Private and the incoming call is considered PUBLIC.

I believe if on the BCM400 you turn on an option in the voicemail to allow network transfers it may work..

--DB

im not sure if have enabled network transfer in the callpilot. ill check that when i go onsite again. is this the only thing i should look at? so i do not need MCDN for these feature?

thanks

For CLID you do plus it will use the TAT and anti trumboning this will release the line on a call transrefed back from the original.

I have calls going through a BCM 400 to 50's without mcdn active.

I was getting the same response as you. What I noticed was the route in the 400 defaulted to Public while the routes in the 50 default to private.

All I did was change the route on the 400 to private and allowed network transfer in voicemail.

i tried enabling the network transfer on callpilot but it still plays an error "you have entered an invalid extension". i just saw your post right now about changing the route to private so i have not tried that.

where do i do this? i have a route 8 on the 400 thats for the SIP trunk to the 50. is this where i will change the route to private? do i also need to change the routes on the 50 to private?

so i changed all entries in the Routes tab to use Private and enable network transfer on the callpilot but still i get an error "you have entered an invalid extension". is there anything i'm missing?

Have you looked at the monitors of the 400 and 50s to see what's being dialed? Do you get that error message when you are dialing an extension on the 400 or one of the 50's? Are you set up with centralized voicemail, and finally, which system is actually playing that message?

when the outside caller is in the AA of the BCM400 and presses an extension on the BCM50, the caller hears one ring then the message "you have entered an invalid extension" which the BCM400 is playing then returns to the CCR. i checked the monitor on the 50 and the call is not being presented. extension to extension w/n the two BCM's are working fine.

Enabled network transfer on Callpilot for both BCM

targets lines are ok and also routing table on ip trunks so BCM to BCM is ok. remote access package includes IP and PSTN trunk pool.

finally got this working by painfully renumbering almost have the inactive DNs. if a received a call from the PSTN and i want to transfer it to another BCM i get a transfer denied message. how do i enable this?

Give acces to the VoIP pool (whatever pool your VoIP trunks are part of) to all your voicemail ports.
