From Photoshop to Fireworks

I have created a layered image in Photoshop, but I wanted to take it over to Flash to animate it. In doing so, I have found that I needed to make it a png - to retain the layers.

When I open the Photoshop file in Fireworks, though, the colors are darker, and some of the images seem to have inverted. Are there any known problems in bringing Photoshop files into Fireworks? Is there a better solution you could suggest?
