from 0001 to 9999 in excel

Hi people,
does anyone know how I can start with 0000 in the first cell and increment by 1 until 9999??

Hi,

You know that Excel will do that without anything special -- enter 0 in A1 and drag down as far as you need.

the trick is I want to show 0001 in the first cell then 0002 .... to 9999.

Hello Waely,
This is just a formatting cells issue, Highlight the Column, right click and 'Format Cells', then in Costom formats, create one like #0000. Once done, start with 0 in cell 'A1' and drag down.

thanks rocavi81 but for some reason when I drag a number down it doesn't incroment it. i put 1 and changed the format to number and when I draged it stayed 1.
