Hi I have a dual boot with Xp pro and Linux Mandrake 9, does anyone know how to get fritz 8 to work on linux, allegedly there is a way to d it?

Hi pechenegs. Would you happen to be Sherlock Holmes in another forum? I found one post that says that it won't run under wine & you'd need to use winex. But then I found this that said it would run with Wine - Your mileage may vary.

hi, cheers smah, nah I am not Mr holmes! Thank you for this info, now I'll need to read up and try and install it and fritz lol!

Dude, if you're a serious chess player, get crafty from ftp://ftp.cis.uab.edu/pub/hyatt/src/ and compile it, then use SCID as a display engine. Crafty is a stronger chess engine than Fritz.
