Hi guys just written my first asp.net web site for our intranet. What I wanted to know is how do I resolve the ip address to a friendly name for users to type into their browsers. i.e at the moments its but i wanted it to be simple like

thanks

This is where you will need to add a Host (A) record to your companies dns server, you will reference the IP of the site. This is assuming that your clients use an internal dns server.
