I have had to do a few fresh NT installations from the CD on machines that had hard drives crash and so on and so forth. But when I do so, I do not get all the functionalities that the original OEM installation had. For example, cannot click and drag icons from the Start menu to the desktop, get a different logout dialog box, and so on. Minor things, but noticeable and they add up -- how can I get the original OEM installation functions back? Do I have to go to the OEM (IBM)? Is there someplace where I can find registry settings for these things? [sig][/sig]

The specific features that you mentioned may be part of IE4 and the desktop update. I know that in order for the Logoff feature to show up in the start menu you must have IE4 installed with the Desktop Update component.

I am not aware, but have heard, that you must install IE4 with the Desktop Update prior to installing IE5 or you will not get these options.... [sig]
Doug
dxd_2000@yahoo.com

[/sig]
