hi everyone,

Is there any one experienced frequent analog line card damaged in multiple slot on one loop only. What might be the probable cause? We are distributing some analog extensions to different loops to determine if it coming from outside source.Someone can give us more idea to isolate the problem.

ISSUE 50 W +

I have a few customers who work in the quarry industry and we get from time to time FALC card failures due to lightning strikes. It tends to affect one card at a time and do seem to be always in the second cabinet on slot 14 or 16. We know it's failed because most of the sets are showing as busy.

Also, if we have BUG enabled on the TTY and reset the card, we get loads of bug errors, can't remember the bug code.

Any some sites do have ONAC Line conditioners and they do work well.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

How old are these cards?

I would try and move the analog card to another slot and put a dlc there to see if it is the slot or external....also if you have the analog sets going to other buildings make sure you have protection on the house cable pairs between buildings

Do you have lightning protection on these analog circuits as they come in to your building?
Have you tested the grounding on it recently if you do. Also test the grounding on the cabinet this card goes in to.
Lightning protection also protects you against surges that can be induced on the lines for any number of reasons before it even gets to your location.
