Hi All,

I was wondering if there was a way to have the french date long appear. For example:

ENGLISH DATE SHORT = 02/02/2012
ENGLISH DATE LONG = Thursday, February 02, 2012
FRENCH DATE SHORT = 02/02/2012
FRENCH DATE LONG should = jeudi, fevrier 02, 2012

Any ideas? How can I do that?

please help.

Thanks,
J

and if it doesn't, look into system settings and SET SYSFORMATS ON, SET DATE LONG will display the long date format in system language.

Bye, Olaf.

Nope, did all that. Still get the full long english date.

Anything I could do? Please let me know.

Thanks,

The ide is english, try that at runtime in a compiled exe, when the vfp9rfra.dll is used (on french windows or by -L command line switch)

Bye, Olaf.

it's an english windows. I have a report that I need to fix for a client where they live in Quebec and there are 2 languages spoken in Quebec. English and French. The dates need to be written accordingly.

I don't understand what you mean? Plaease let me know.

Thanks,

Foxup,

You need to do SET DATE LONG. However, this will only work if the user has specified French dates in Regional Settings in Control Panel.

If the user has not done that, then there is no built-in way of getting the long date in French. But it shouldn't be too hard to write your own function to do that.

Mike
