SQL 2000 Macola 7.6.200.5 Is it possible to add freight to an order prior to billing? I understand this might be a function in version 7.6.300?

Thanks

If you use a type I order, this is possible, and has been for at least 8 years. However the invoice will print the next time you print invoices, which may not be desireable.

There is nothing new in 76300 about being able to add freight on an O type order that I can see.

I was only hoping for the best after reading this article via exact web site. Billing/via order entry could include the freight amount currently entered through the billing screen.

Enhancements to Entering Orders 7.6.300
There are several enhancements to Order Entry:

1-4 ommitted

5. Enter billing information during order entry -- This enhancement allows you to enter billing information when adding or changing any type of order. This is controlled by the Enter Billing Information During Order Entry field on O/E Setup.

If I could give myself a negative star, I would.

I did not know this was available. I just tested this again and it works great.

While I was there, I tested Sales Tax on a type O order, and it does not work. Too bad, the fields are there, they just contain zeros.

That is good news for us, we do not deal in tax just freight.

Thanks for the look up.

FYI
I Tried the entering an order with the "Enter Billing During Order Entry" option checked in the OE Control File and sales tax calculated correctly. Make sure you have the Order Taxable flag checked, make sure the customer is taxable and that the items you are billing are also flaged as taxable in the item master. You also have been able to manualy enter the tax amount if you wish.

Don't forget, macola "borrowed" or "purchased" this additional functionality from Peak Data Systems (now Tectura), which they developed as long ago as version 6 macola. Now you can see it live & in color, but with some bugs that macola programming has not fully tested. Give it a couple more releases, and they will have ironed out or denied functional problems here, and you will have a much better product than 7.6.200.5.

I can confirm that the Sales Tax on O type orders works. Not having a good day.

On a tanget, it appears that Exact purchased from Techtura all the old Peak enhancements as well as the Macola client base from Techtura, who will continue to focus on their Navision practice.
