I have a new PC and have installed a dlink network card, whilst booting after the installation the machine goes so far and then freezes on a black screen. It doesn't even get to the windows start screen. Yet whilst booting in safe mode it works fine, and also after removing the network card. Is there anything I can do as I have installed the correct drivers and can't think of anything else.

A memory conflict, an IRQ conflict? On a lot of systems this would be tied to a sound card conflict. Solution generally is finding the conflict, removing the conflicting device from device manager, reinstalling the NIC and letting the OS figure it out on it's own while reinstalling both. Ed Fair
