Freeze up in dbastudio in Security object

I have Oracle 8i installed on a Sun server.

I log in to the server and then start dbastudio:

oemapp dbastudio

The GUI loads up and I'm able to get as far as the Security folder (where I see the USERS folder). I try to open up the USERS folder but it hangs for a long time...

Any ideas on what I should check?

Check the oracle process within UNIX by using "ps -ef" command. If this does not solve your problem, then it may be an OMS problem.

Workaround is to sStart the OMS with Regional Settings set to Anglais-E.U or English-US

1. Exit from the console and/or dba studio.
2. Stop the OMS
3. Go to Configuration Panel >> Regional Settings
4. Change from Français-Standard to Anglais-E.U and Press Apply
(You will perhaps need the Microsoft Windows CDROM and installation
of english files will need a reboot of the server)
5. Start the OMS
6. You can then set Regional Settings back to Français-Standard if you
wish
7. Launch DBA Studio : all should display fine now.
