Freeze trying to ScanDisk ... help! 1

Hello,

I can Defrag no problem but I freeze when I try to run ScanDisk...
Can I run ScanDisk in Dos without running WindowsMe?

Appreciate any help/suggestions!

Control-Alt-Delete everything except Systray and Explorer, run ScanDisk.

I think systray is only the name of the program that show the little speaker (to control the volume) on the taskbar, just like internat is the icon for changing the keybord language.

And for your scandisk problem, try to boot from a windows boot disk and run scandisk in dos mode.
