I'm using a Freecom Classic External Hard Drive on Windows XP and I'm getting a code 10. My hard drive was working perfectly up to a few days ago. When I gave it on loan to a friend. I'm using a laptop but it was working perfectly when my laptop was plugged in and running on battery. The Hard drive has its own power supply as well. As I understand code 10 it is a power issue but it was working before. I am wondering if there is anything that anyone can suggest. I have already done the usual such as uninstalling and then reinstalling, downloading newest drivers. Changing usb ports on the laptop. But still nothing. If anyone can help please do.

Can you remove the hard drive and install it as a slave into a desktop? This will tell us if it is a hard drive, or external box problem.
