I am trying to install FreeBSD for the first time to learn Unix. I followed the install and chose pretty much defaults for everything. I chose exit and reboot and upon reboot, I get these 4 errors over and over again:

Jun 9 14:54:44 UnixTest /kernal: lnc0: Missed Packet -- no recieve buffer
Jun 9 14:54:44 UnixTest /kernal: lnc0: Memory error -- Resetting
Jun 9 14:54:44 UnixTest /kernal: lnc0: Initialisation failed
Jun 9 14:54:44 UnixTest /kernal: lnc0: Heartbeat error -- SQE test failed
Jun 9 14:54:44 UnixTest /kernal: lnc0: Babble error -- more than 1519 bytes tran
smitted

What did I do wrong?

Thanks,

That's an odd one. I recommend doing a minimal install with FreeBSD though. Then you simply add what you want later, easily done from the ports collection.

Can you post the output from the dmesg command?

Matt,
the messages is comming from the ip logger and are sent to std.out. Your system is perfectly usable and you can just close you eyes and log in if you want to.

If you switch to another tty it shouldn't be there. Somewhere in rc.conf it must be possible to disable this but I haven't got access to a system here.
