I'm new to linux. I've managed to setup Apache, now I want to setup a personal ftp server on my pc at home so I can get to its files from work. Come to think of it, a telnet server would be nice to. I'm using Suse 7.1 Pro, maybe I already those programs somewhere.

Any Suggestions?

Suggest that you use a SSH rather than a telnet server... try for more information and directions... You can use it to transfer accross files as well, if required...

You probably already have both ftp and telnet capablilities. Telnet is installed by default, but I'm not sure if an ftp server would be installed by default or not with SuSE, but I'm 99% that it is on the CD. Ian

"IF" is not a word it's a way of life

um.....ok
I'll let you help me a telnet prob;
everytime I connect I get this message:
telenetd: getnameinfo
Then it disconnects.
I'm using Suse Pro 7.1, and have not altered inetd.conf.

Ahy ideas?
