I have an old Macintosh notebook running OS 9 and I need to be able to open Microsoft Word and Excel documents on it. The machine is too old to justify purchasing an MS Office liscense for it, so I was looking for a free application that would allow me to view Office documents.
I checked openoffice.org, but as far as I could find, there is no version of OpenOffice that works on OS 9 (if anyone knows differently, please let me know).
I was wondering if anyone knows of any free applications or utilities that will allow me to view Word and Excel files in OS 9. Ultimately, I'd like to find a full-featured application similar to OpenOffice that would allow me to create and modify documents as well, but even a utility that would allow the viewing of files only would be helpful.
Thanks
