In the past, I've used a help-authoring tool called RoboHelp which I've had numerous problems using. Does anyone know of a free help-authoring tool that it reliable to use?

I am also using Robohelp and personally think its the best ,after playing with a few others.

If you want a free help authoring tool..try HTML Help Workshop from microsoft. Its not that user friendly though.

or try Help Creator at
also there are more few ones at
but I think you should stick to Robohelp

I use HelpScribble which is amazingly reliable to use and extremely simple to get to grips with but also very powerful too!

You can download the evaluation version from here which will allow you to create complete help files.

I know you asked for a free tool but the cost of this one ($99, £59) soon outweighs the initial price in the amount of time you will save yourself. Support is also extremely good and I never like to part with cash for any kind of delphi component if at all possible!

PS, I am in no way affilated with HelpScribble other than the fact that I use it to document my software. Its just bloody good! [tongue]

Ok, cheers for your replies guys. I'm reinstalling RoboHelp so I'll try that again first as I'm already familiar with it. I'll keep you posted.
