Hi all
Thought that might grab you! ;-)

I've created a 'painting' page (maybe you should have a look at to see what I mean).

With this I can track the locations of everything drawn and pass it to a PHP file in one single line. Obviously that's the easy bit. What I really need to do is be able to write this line to a database of some sort, or a text file. Then I need to retrieve say the first three rows/records so that the variables can be used to form a 'gallery'.

If any of you guys/gals could help I'd be forever grateful. If I ain't being clear enough just give me a shout and I'll come running.

Cheers!
dave

do you want to put the image in the database, or just a link to the image or something else?

the image doesn't go into the database per-se (ie: as a jpg). The image would be sent to the database as a string of text.

I also thgouth that it might be possible to add he string to a text file. When each user hits a 'save' button, the variables are sent to the text file and added as a new row. But how to retrieve a particular row of text from the text file? (I don't know, obviously).

Sorry if I'm being too vague on this, as you can tell PHP ain't my specialised subject, and I really appreciate your help with this.

OK Thanks steijssen. Already know about php.net (and the 'other' one ;-) ) Guess I'll just have a crack at it again myself.

Thanks again
