Hi,

I will be doing a complete restore of my HP-UX machine next week. I will be using an ignite-ux recovery tape to restore all of vg00. Then i will re-create vg02 and vg01.

I will have to recover all my database files then.
What i intend to do is log onto unix as root, and then type frecover -r.
Will this be sufficient to recover all my files?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe,
First I would like to know how was the backup taken? What options did you use with fbackup?

Hi,

I have looked at the backup script and found this:

if [ "$ERROR" = "false" ]; then
fbackup -f /dev/rmt/0m -g $DIR/backup.graph -u -v -V

is this enough/does it make sense?

Thanks,

Joe

Why don't you use the Backup and Recovery area of sam to do the backup and recovery? Then you don't have to worry about the correct syntax of either backup or recovery.

Hi

As you seem to be very unsure, I would make sure before doing anything that backup.graph lists everything that you need to recreate vg01 and vg02.

Regards
Clare
