Hi guys
Does anyone know how to include the .Net Framework in a websetup installer? I would like to be able to automatically install the framework on the target server if it is not already installed That'l do donkey, that'l do

I looked at Wise but I have never used it before and wasn't sure about it.

I am currently using the Web Setup Project from VS.Net. Would you recomend going to Wise? That'l do donkey, that'l do

I keep getting this error do you know what it is?

dotNETFXRedist_x86_enu.msm must not be used to redistribute the .NET Framework. Please exclude this merge module.

ooooo, maybe you're not allowed to redistribute the framework! That would be really ghey though. Have you tried excluding that file?

As to your other post, we used Wise at the place I used to work at, and I was pretty impressed with it (moreso than the InstallShield program thats out there). Wise even has a feature that allows users to go to the web to get automatic updates (kinda like Windows Update, but with your own projects/products). The script used to create them was pretty easy to edit and change as well.

All in all, i thought it was kewl. I had to make a few of the scripts, and it was a good experience.

I found a fix on the microsoft site. That file giving the error is for looks only basically so it must be exluded. The microsoft site had a premade setup.exe. You merely need to change the ini file to point to your msi installer and to the dotnetfx.exe file.

Anyone who is interested here is the link.

Nice, Zarcom. Would you link this thread up to the tidbits thread?
