I've just installed Framework Manager on a new PC, and i'm having some problems connecting to any of the data sources that are defined in ReportNet.

When I go to create a new project in framework manager, the wizard comes up, I select the language to create the project in, select the import source as 'Database', and then when it tries to connect to ReportNet to retrieve the database list, I'm getting the following error message and none of the data sources are being listed:

Code:
CCL-RCI-0001 Unhandled WASP (third-party) exceptions were converted into this generic RCIException code.
TCP problem - got closed connection

thrown at src/transport/http/HTTPTransportClient.cpp:122
caught at src/transport/http/HTTPTransportClient.cpp:200
rethrown at src/transport/http/HTTPTransportClient.cpp:205
caught at RCIReportNet.cpp:6958
rethrown at RCIReportNet.cpp:6966

* The datasource setup in Cognos Connection works fine.
* Testing the datasource on the computer (using Oracle SQL plus and Impromptu admin) works fine.
* The computer's cognos configuration is setup correctly

I'm a little stumped as for where to look next. Who has any ideas?

Have you found what was causing this error? I am having the same problem.

When I go to create a new project in framework manager, the wizard comes up, I select the language to create the project in, select the import source as 'Database', and then when it tries to connect to ReportNet to retrieve the database list, I get the error.

Additionally, when I open an existing project, I can see all the source tables listed, but when I try "preview", I get the above error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks Stefan. My sysadmin guys just showed me that very thing this morning. Solved the problem.

God, this was so long ago that i'd forgotten what the problem was. The problem I had was due to the network's firewall settings.
