Framework converts timestamp(6) with time zone incorrectly

Framework converts timestamp(6) with time zone incorrectly to a characterlength16 format. Obviously Cognos Frawmwork does not know what to do with a timestamp(6) with time zone format. Can anyone recomment a work around? Has anyone had similiar issues?
