Frame will not go where I want it in MSW07 1

Using Word 2007 today I tried to insert a frame in a paragraph (to hold the image of a danger signal). The frame refused to stay in the paragraph but consistently hid itself behind a bigger illistration immediately above the paragraph.

Oh, well - no warning sign

Still, I would like some idea why the frame seemed to have a mind of its own ;}

Any ideas anyone?

Hi OfficeAnimal,

What do you mean by 'frame' and how are you inserting it? In Word 2007, you don't need to insert anything to hold an object - you should be able to insert the object directly.

Hi macropod

I just added the 'Insert Frame' icon to the little toolbar at the top of the screen. I click on it and shift the frame to where I want it.

As far as inserting pictures without frames goes, I have never discovered how to put them where I want them, size them as I wish, choose borders or not, and add Captions to them without frames. Maybe there is a way, and, if it is easier, I'd like to know.

Hi OfficeAnimal,

After inserting the picture, all the tools you need are available on the Picture Tools Ribbon.

If you format the picture's layout as 'square' or 'tight' (see under 'Text Wrapping') you can drag it to wherever you want.

Resizing can be done via the 'Size' tools (though it's never required more than clicking on the image and dragging a corner in/out).

Borders etc are equally easy to manage from the Picture Tools Ribbon.
