Here is the scenario. Brand new cold start setup. I have a single physical line coming into HQ providing Internet access and PVC connections to 3 remote offices using PPP over frame relay. This line is going into a 2620 (via a Paradyne CSU/DSU). Unfortunately this is a managed router by the ISP so they will not configure subinterfaces on this box. So my first question is if I take Ethernet 0 from the 2620 and plug it into the new router can I configure subinterfaces on this? If so do I go from Ethernet 0 to the built in CSU/DSU on the new 1720 or do I need a second Ethernet port on the 1720.
Thx for any help.

I'm not sure that I fully understand your objective. I do know that your DLCIs terminate at the first router interface that connects to the providers frame relay switch. LMI takes place between those two points. So I think that subinterfaces, in the context of FR, are likely of no value to you. Unless you are talking about moving your ISP router off of the T-1 and putting your 1720 in there. You would want them in the loop on that kind of a change.

I'm trying to read into this so forgive me if I read it wrong. You have one Frame Access line going into your HQ router that is managed by the ISP that won't configure add'l frame connections on the 2620. You have another 1700 series router that goes to three remote offices via Frame-relay. Your objective is to give internet access to the remote offices via your ISP. There...I say you edge the isp, Get a router or small Firewall supporting NAT and connect your local and remote sites via a default gatewayto the ISP. Good luck. Be sure you protect your sites by either ACL's or a good firewall.
