Hello everybody,

Could you please write down a few facts to help me make a decision between frame relay network and xDSL-network. Or has there been made any research papers to compare these techniques?

best regards,
.mika

Lets see...

DSL- fast cheap.. extremely long lead times.. DSL vendors dropping like flies( flashcom current DOA) Techsupport is non-existant.. has serveral distance limitation depending on which flavor of DSL ( ADSL, ISDL etc)

Frame- fast- somewhat cheap- 1 to 5 week lead which is mostly met-- multiple choices of vendor-- techsuport while it can be decent is in flux right now at several large providers due to telecom act ( pacbell is one example.. now Pacbell does physical and AIS does logical)-- serial equipment is cheaply available.

There are more but these pop off the top of my head.

As per Wybnormal the DSL companies are a dime a dozen and or dropping like flies.
If I was you I would check with your local Telephone company or a reliable CLEC.
( Next link , M-power, or Covad ). It may be possible to have a well known telco acting as a clec as well, like Sprint. The determining factor would be, what will better
support your application. Is the product and the service from the company you choose reliable! Good Luck !!!
