I have a 1920Meg frame-relay connection between two sites, one end is a cisco 3620 router the other a Nortel passport.

A few times an hour I get sequence errors on the Nortel equipment and frame aborts on the cisco interface.
When debugging the cisco router sends out it's status enquires ever 10 secs as configured. The Nortel box replies to these with updates, but the cisco doesn't see one update causing a sequence error. I've checked the PTT line and bert testing doesn't show any errors.

I'm sure its the status update is getting lost in the PTT network, but can not prove it to the PTT.

Can any one help ???

Bottom line is so long as the Nortel is transmitting and line testing shows that the reply was transmitted then it is up to the telco switch to properly route the data to it's destination. The Nortel has done it's job. If something gets lost and the Cisco does not receive the transmission then it must have been lost somewhere in the PSTN. Testing from the Cisco or Nortel to the Frame Relay switch only shows that that portion of the link is good. What about from frame relay switch to frame relay switch across the PSTN network? That's telco's responsibility.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input GTI4Life,

Your right, we showed the testing results to the telco and they agreeded to changed the line from a framed 1.984M DACs to a straight 2048meg pipe . The service is now running errors free.
