I have set up a lab with point-to-point sub interfaces and can ping between the routers fine. Here is on of the sub interface configs:

interface seriaol0/0/0.17 point-to-point
ip address 192.168.255.2 255.255.255.252
frame-relay interface-dlci 17

With multipoint and setting up a map you can specify with a broadcast. Is this possible with point-to-point. If so, how do you do this.

Thanks.

Not sure what you're asking...ppp links over frame resolves RIP updates and split-horizon issues. You can put whatever config you want on a logical interface that is part of a physical interface. Are you asking for a route map or broadcast relay agent config, or what?

From what I understand you do not use a frame relay map on a point-to-point connection, you just use frame-relay interface-dlci 17. This doesnt give you the option for broadcast like a multipoint connection. RIP used broad cast for it's updates and frame relay is NBMA. How do I get the updates across the PVC in this scenario.

Please forgive my ignorance, I am just trying to understand.

Thanks!!

Please disregard. I did not have the default gateway on the switches in this scenario.

Thanks.

You don't need the "broadcast" keyword on a point-to-point subinterface. It's irrelevant. You don't need to do anything special to get routing updates to cross a point-to-point link.
