Hello,
Thank you all for sharing your wisdom -- this forum (and a few other online resources) have helped me learn a vast amount about the Meridian systems.
I had a quick question about Fractional PRI setup. I'm working on planning out a T1/PRI set up between a Cisco 1760-V and an Meridian 1 / Opt 11c. I've got my head wrapped around the configuration of the T1/PRI from both the M1 and Cisco perspective as far as connectivity via the full set of T1/PRI channels is concerned... however, I discovered that the Cisco 1760-V I have en route is equipped with a PVDM-256K-4, meaning it can only do ~6 channels of DSP for a Voice PRI.
In theory this is no problem, since I can set up a fractional PRI on the Cisco and M1 sides to only use Channel 1-5 and 24 for DCH ( I don't really need all 23 channels anyway since this is a lab/home setup).
On the Cisco side that part is fairly simple since I could just do something like this:
controller T1 1
framing esf
linecode b8zs
pri-group timeslots 1-5,24
However, how do I accomplish this on the M1 side? I have a config already built on the M1 for a PRI with all the fixin's including DCH/DLOP/RDB and DID TRKs for all 23 channels. From my searches here, I found that it looks like I just need to OUT the DID/Trunks that correspond to the TNs of the channels that aren't used, is my thinking here correct? Here's that post that gave me that notion.
Would I also need to make any adjustments to the DLOP settings under CEQU? Currently mine is set like below:
DLOP NUM DCH FRM LCMT YALM T1TE TRSH
PRI 02 23 ESF B8S FDL - 00
MISP
I also looked thru the ADAN DCH config but doesn't look like there's anything there that I need to change to reflect the usage of specific channels...
Either way any and all help/advice are appreciated
thank you,
bc
