fqdn entry for virtual smtp

hello
i have an inside net 192.168.31.x
my dns is working properly etc
but what i have in the fqdn entry is mail.mydomain.lan
the .lan being my inside dns zone
should that show mail.mydomain.com instead?

doesn't have to, just make sure you have an entry in your DNS to reflect .lan
