I have a site with dynamic content and I have been told to upload to my hosts server using FTP. The host assures me that FPSE are switched on and thata this method of transfer should be OK.
The pages with these submit type buttons haven't ever worked and I have just read Michael Smith's response on FTP type connections breaking the FPSE and requiring them to be re-installed. Can someone tell me if I can use this FTP type transfer or should my host be requesting the upload in a different way.
Many thanks

If you had everything - where would you put it?

Hi Jack,

Micheal here.

If you are using component pages which are dependent on the extensions such as the FP Hit Counter, FrontPage forms set for Send to:, Discussion Web, Search Form etc, then these pages will not function if you transfer them to your site via FTP. Using FTP for these pages would indeed break the extensions, necessitating a reinstall and subsequently a republish.

Apparently your host isn't familiar with these FrontPage components.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal Smith
