FP's Calendar and Calculator accessories are still here

Those who have missed the old FP Calendar/Diary and Calculator may not realize these "desktop accessories" are still with us, but hidden.

[tab]activate window calendar

[tab]activate window calculator

will bring forth these tools. Obviously, the Windows versions of these are more full-featured, but there are times when I find these handy.

One tip concerning the use of calculator - don't bother minimizing it.

Close it and the next time you use it during the current session, its last value will be its initial value.

This has to be one of the most useless pieces of VFP knowledge ever!

I think that's by design. You can also read the value using the _CALCVALUE system memvar.

Another system memvar worth mentioning is _DIARYDATE, which is either today's date or the last date from Calendar for the current session.

These accessories may not be seen to be state of the art, but for sheer convenience and practicality, they take some beating.
