FPD2.0 - POP.COM and .SQZ files?

We have a new client that has an application written in FPD 2.0. The main program file has been compiled to a .SQZ and is called via a batch file with a program called POP.COM. Could anyone tell me what a .SQZ file type is or what POP.COM is?

If I remember correctly it was a program that would compress and exe to save disk space and then expand it when it was run.

Probably fairly pointless in this day of 100$ 30gb drives.
