FP PhotoGallery on a SubDomain

I have a subdomain setup on my hosting account and I'm having trouble adding a PhotoGallery. I think it has something to do with where I have the photos saved on the server. First I had them under the subdomain, but the thumbnails were showing up on the web as Xs. Then I tried moving all the pics out in a folder under the main domain, and now I receive a 404 error on the web.

Can someone help me understand how to setup a photogallery in FP for a subdomain.
