In FP 2002, I have created a survey form and results are being captured in a database. I am collecting the remote computer ID, but want to automatically capture the viewer's email address so I can later verify that they have only filled out survey 1 time (cash prize involved.)

Can I technically (or legally) capture the viewers email address? Is the remote computer ID unique to each computer, or is it the ISP's computer id?

Thanks... Survey is "live" now, and a quick reply is much appreciated!

Thanks Corey. Can you tell me if the remote user ID is unique to the site visitor, or unique to the site visitor's ISP?

No, because most will be the default name unless they actually changed that. The only unique thing would be the IP address, but then it would not do you too much good because the ISPs would not routinely release that personal information to the general public. You need a court order to get that information.
