I am having trouble with "search web" feature, and I believe it may be because my host does not have the most current fp extensions installed. He thinks fp is "amateur" I think, and doesn't take it seriously. How can I check? I know some fp extensions are installed, as my webs publish ok, but definitely not all the latest features work.

Also, does it cost a lot for a host to have features such as the new SHARE POINT TEAM installed? My host definitely does not have this. What is the hassle/cost to him to keep the latest and greatest fp features updated for me?

While I have been loyal to this host and I have over a dozen web sites with him, I want to know if he is giving me the best service possible.

If you have a chance, look here: (still in work) and tell me if you can see why the search form won't work, even though I have UPDATED THE TEXT INDEX etc.

Thanks so much!

I have FrontPage 2002 and my host has 2000 extensions. I also have the search page on my site, and it works fine, so I don't think it's your extensions. Maybe there's a component error. Have you tried deleting the component, saving the page, and reinserting the component? I know that sometimes my table of contents component sometimes get corrupted, and I have to do that to fix it.

First, your Web host should take anything you're doing seriously. It's a great quality of yours that you wish to demonstrate loyalty to them, but that doesn't mean you have to take crap from them.

Second, look at your form. This is in your code:
<form action=&quot;_derived/nortbots.htm&quot; method=&quot;POST&quot; onsubmit=&quot;location.href='_derived/nortbots.htm';return false;&quot;>

Perhaps it should look more like something like this:
<form action=&quot;_vti_bin/shtml.exe/search.htm&quot; method=&quot;POST&quot;>

Thank you...yes, my host has agreed to put up the FP 2002 extensions, but now I see that may not be the problem. I didn't mess with the code at all...just inserted the component. I have also tried it on several other of my sites with the same error. I'll keep pluggin'

Thx!
