Have an old FP 2.6 DOS application that does some strange stuff under Win98. Executing certain reports produces a hang condition on the machines; we then need to reboot. Programs work fine under DOS. No error messages are reported. Any ideas?

A number of things to try:-

1. Since it works OK thru DOS but not Windows, ensure within the properties tab of the Icon used to start the application that all Memory settings are set to Auto.

2. When installing the printer, there is usually a default which allows you to print from MS-DOS based applicatons. Did you set this to 'Yes'. The default is normally 'No'.

3. Within your code, prior to starting each new print job, issue the command _PDSETUP = "" to clear any possible printer codes from the last job.

Keep in Touch.
