foxpro 2.6 report pages

hi all

i am doing some reports for a client in foxpro 2.6
i am trying to number my pages in the report as follows

page/total no of pages

page is simple just use _pageno
but how about total no of pages, how can i get it keep in mind that the repot is dynamic that is it changes all the time, so i cannot count lines and estimate total no of pages

any help would be appreciated

One workaround is to run the report, store the value of _PAGENO to get the total number of pages then run the report again displaying this value.

Note: to make sure you don't get something like 7 of 5, make sure that you either open the files you are reporting on EXCLUSIVE or use an SQL SELECT into some local cursors so the data doesn't get changed between the two runs!

Note: VFP 8.0 & 9.0 provide this feature if you include the system variable _PAGETOTAL - VFP just runs the report first silently and saves off the total page count and then runs it again! This is the same as what MS ACCESS has always done for it's reports.
