Hey guys,

Can anyone confirm what the maximim size for a screen in Foxpro 2.6a is? I can only make the horizontal pixels in screen layout a max of 1024 but I don't know if that's a true maximum or maybe something in my environment.

Thanks to any old timers that might be able to give me some insight into this. :)

Hmmm. I reckon I (as an old timer [wink]) had never run into that scenario. Back when I was using FPW, the screens were never that big anyway.
Anyway, I just tried it too, and it appears the biggest screen size is indeed 1024x1024. Even typing in something bigger than 1024 resets the spinner.

Thanks Dave. That really limits me with my screen sizes these days but I guess I can split the screen and make a screen set maybe. I don't think it limits the position of the screen.

I just tried it in FoxPro 2.6b for the Mac. Same thing, max screens size is 1024x1024 regardless of what I type in the boxes. I use FP screen sizes of 624x624, so that behavior has never been noticed before.

That's interesting for the Mac also. I haven't needed screen sizes larger than 1024 before either but they have noticed a lot of "white space" on those large monitors so now they want to use up that screen real estate.

Mmerlinn, do you have many FoxPro 2.6b Mac applications still running?

Only those inhouse, and there are several that are still being constantly improved upon. The only drawback is that they won't run on any Mac that won't run Mac OS 9.2.2 or earlier. Unfortunately, neither Apple nor Microsoft provided an upgrade path to newer Macs, so eventually we will be forced to abandon either the Mac or FoxPro.

So good to see some reference of my dear dear FoxPro here. The screen size was an issue that died along with FoxPro for DOS
