I am trying to start up an application, which has worked as a standalone for some time, located on a shared drive in a server based, peer to peer environment and get an error message, "Invalid or missing EXE file". I am double clicking on the file in windows explorer.

That is an indication that someone opened the file with another type of program (for example a Word Processor) and then selected Save to exit instead of quit.
You ->WILL<- have to restore from a backup or if the file is a FoxPro exe you can rebuild it if you have the source code.
David W.
