I am getting the following error message "cannot write to read-only file" whenever I try to do a GATHER MEMVAR MEMO. Kindly inform me what is causing this. Thank you.

If you are not trying to write to a temp file or cursor,
Where is the file you are trying to write to
Local HD,
Network Drive,
CD-Rom ???
Look at the file attributes of the *.FPT , DBF and CDX file you are trying to write to. Make sure the r (Read-Only) flag is not on.
