We have an application which can create dbase files for importation into word via mailmerge. We are now starting get errors in the vein of "cannot locate xbase memo file". We have had the customers download MDAC 2.5 from the MS site and setup the odbc drivers correctly, (source name & free table directory location), but the error still occurs. Note that for 90% of our installed database customer, the download works well with no errors. They have also reloaded word97 from scratch and installed Msoffice97 drivers to no avail. Any ideas out there as to waht is happening?

Just a Guess. How does that saying go about "Experience".
Go to a computer that works correctly, Open a DOS window, and change directory to the highest root directory common to your application. Put a formated floppy in the floppy drive then type
DIR *.* /S > A:GoodComp.txt
Do the same thing on a computer that does not work correctly and type
DIR *.* /S > A:BadComp.txt
Print the 2 files and match them Directory by Directory and File to File and make sure all the files and directories are there.
I can not tell you the number of times some of my applications stopped working because a file was missing. The amazing thing is it worked for years before then. But No Network Abuser (sorry I meant user) ever deletes files and then saids "Not Me".
David W.
