I was called into to a small company to set up a new computer. They run FoxPro 2.5 for Dos on Windows XP from a network drive. On the XP system they bring up a dos prompt change to the root of the network drive then they type 40. It launches FoxPro and opens their file/prg. There is a batch file 40 in a subfolder. When I edit it is says cd\ then foxpro companyname.

When I run this on the new computer it says that 40 is an unrecognized command. I found a foxpro directory on the network drive. I can launch foxpro25 from there and it opens. I found a file company name but it says it is out of date.

Can anyone help me out. I don't know anything about FoxPro except it is a database.

This is a DOS problem, not a Foxpro problem.

The .BAT file needs to be in the DOS search path.

You are right. I was so focused on the FoxPro. I did even consider the simple solution. Thanks.

Just wanted to let you know it work. It was a 10 second fix. Thank you.
