Is is possible in a BCM50 R3 to be able to send calls to VM on a call by call basis either through a feature code/button or through PCM?
The situation is that the user wants to be able to look at the caller-id and make a decision to answer the call or send it directly to VM without the usual 3 or 4 rings.

They could try pushin the DND button and see if that does the trick. They would need to press it again to take their phone off DND though.

Program a forward to voicemail(f984) button and see if it forwards the call right away(i'm not too sure..) otherwise forward always the phone to voicemail and program an "interrupt" button(f987), that way when the call goes in the mailbox the callerid will show and he can then interrupt the call.

Or call screening. The caller is prompted to record there name then it is sent to the phone and the user can answer or send to VM.

Thanks for the replies.

The DND option doesn't work. The Fwd Busy/ VMI option is an interesting work around and does have of what their looking for. The call screening won't work because they want to have this happen on the second concurrent call, not all calls.
I'll guess it is what it is.

I don't know if this will work but it's worth a try. On a PBX if you have a forward button programmed, if you press it while the call is ringing, the call forwards immediately to whatever the destination is.

Try having the button programmed as a call forward button (F4) with the destinaton as your voicemail DN and when the call is ringing, press it and see if goes there.

Works like a charm on the old ROLM systems, but this being a Nortel.......??????

find something like the old personal call manager it is linked to the phone set and has pop ups on the computer screen on the bcm you just need the lan cte keycode
