We are moving away from a front end Nortel PBX with a valcom paging system to full Call Manager. There are four zones for four different floors. We have experience tying out a paging system with one zone, but not with four. Would we just duplicate the four zone using a four port fxo card, one port per zone?
If anyone has any experience with this kind of paging build, please advise.

Thanks.

It all depends on the Valcom unit. are the floors tied together through one Valcom multipage unit? Or are they standalone Valcoms on each floor?
For the first all you need is one FXO port, then dial the access code for the page zone.
For the latter you will need an FXO port for eacy floor.

If you hook up a test set to the tip and ring (in) on the unit can you dial each page zone?

If so all you need to do is setup access to the valcom via a fxo.

What we did was make the port 7777 to access the unit then the customer dial their desired page zone.
