Before I dispose of an old hard drive I just put a nail through it - but here's four rather extreme ways to do it.


Depends how paranoid you are I guess. As for CDs - just snap them in two! LOL

This is a repeat of at least three other threads (just sayin') - one pretty recent.
 
I agree, it is a repeat...

but still interesting, seeing three(3) mechanical ways to destroy a HDD, the degaussing machine, wasn't really mechanical except in the way it moved the drive into the Gauss field and back out...
