there's a file on my hard drive called "found.000". when I opened it with notepad, it seems to be the missing data from my calendar since my computer crashed months ago. how do I recover this? anyone have any hints?

Hallo again Peechee,

First thing is to BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP AND ONLY THEN try to establish whether the file contains Alarms Events Calls or Appointments which correspond to
in my case as James Maidment(JM):

Alarms:(JM)ALAR.SKW
Events:(JM)EVEN.SKW
Calls:(JM)csca.skw
Tasks:(JM)TASK.SKW

The only thing you could try is to save a Backup of your present calendar under another name and then SaveAs the calendar into a folder on your desktop and then substitute your file to one of the files in that folder by renaming the original to
(OLD NAME)old.SKW
and then renaming your file.
Of course you do NOT do this while Sidekick is running!
Then Re-Open Sidekick and see if there are any entries which are important and then Double Click on them and then put them in notepad dated.

Dear Peechee,

Upon reflection I would suggest that you start a new calendar and then substitute the .000 file for one of those and if you can recover the data you can then use the ability that Internet Sidekick97 has of merging/synchronising the 2 calendars your present one; and the lost data.
Of course the suggestion to Backup is still critically important!

Regards
Jim
