forwarding

Trying to Forward main reception to another extension.
When I forward to an extension,the extention does not ring it goes to the recption voicemail.
What I did was: at the reception set I dialed the system default shortcode *07*N# I get a 2 beep confirmation tone but the spk button is lit.
I call the reception set and it rings 2x at the forwarded number then goes to reception VM mail.
I would like it to ring at the forwarding destination alot more than 2 rings.

Why does it seem so hard to simply forward a set?

Did you turn forwarding on after setting the number you want to forward to.... after you set fwd number by *07*N# hang up after 2 beeps. then dial *01 to turn fwd on and listen for 2 beeps, then hang up. to turn FWd off it is *02 then 2 beeps and hang up.

You say speaker light is on, have you hang up the phone?

digital is right it is a two step process to forward calls on IPO. A great convenience if you usually forward to the same number (like a cell).

Tip: I always program two buttons on every phone when I do an IPO install, one is dial/*07* and labelled "Set forward #"; the other is ForwardUnconditionalOn and labelled "Forward On/Off". I try to put them beside each other - the set forward number does not need an LED but the set forward on/off does.

When fwd hunt group calls you also have to set the user to be able to fwd hunt group calls in the fwd setting plus the group must be set to hunt type other wise the call will not fwd. To make it ring longer on the other phone just up the timer for no ans on the hunt group.

The group must be set to linear or circular (I believe that's hunt or rotary for our british friends), not Group or Most Idle
